What is the story of Tribal Beads Festival behind?
Okay, let’s start from this. Are you familiar with any kind of yoga system or yoga philosophy? Do you know what is mala or mala beads? Mala is a hindu rosemary - necklace made of different type of beads. And here we go. Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, our guruji, guru of ashtanga yoga system, wrote only one book, which is called Yoga Mala. Name of this book have became like an inspiration for the festival name. It's actually a metaphore. "Mala" is a bead, a bead means here position [ásana] and breath together. Ásanas with breath = beads are connected with a thread. A thread is here vinyasa [flow], a fluent transition between positions. We strongly believe that this idea can be applied for dance too. We all are dancers - beads, connected with dance - a thread, which creates a garland or different tastes and colourful approaches, which are always connected with our passion for dance. We’d love to connect different dance approaches, which have been inspiring tribal fusion dance. As tribal & tribal fusion as a dance form is really young, still shaping and evolving (in a good way), we’d love to bring new fresh ideas for other dancers to improve the whole dance style. Add your bead to our tribal garland!
